Region-wide, synchronized business solution for Conares Metal Supply, UAE

Conares Metal Supply is one of the largest steel traders in the world and the largest suppliers of rolled steel in the UAE, with offices around the emirates. They wished to deploy an easy to use, feature rich business application that was robust and met the various functional demands of its trading activity. The installations needed to cover their numerous regional offices through a distributed architecture and link into their head-office at Jebel Ali, through an ISDN infrastructure.


The global steel industry has seen a hugely dynamic growth with world metal prices changing constantly. To keep abreast with their tremendous demand, Conares Metal Supply needed to meet their customers’ challenges on time, everytime. Investing in Tally ees 6.3, Conares were assured of quick deployment across all their offices, users were quickly onto the system, updating inventory and order processing information online within the shortest possible time. Our TDL programmers customized various modules and reports specific to their business and MIS needs.


The head office systems were then configured for data synchronisation with the regional office systems using the Tally server synchronization tool. The project was a tremendous success and was the first ever Tally server technology deployed in the world. Conares Metal Supply today has sales and stock information on real time basis across their region with little user intervention. The business can judiciously make better decisions and successfully move stock from one warehouse to another aligning demand in the region as a whole, offering significant savings in stocking and carrying excess inventories.


When we established our Middle East operations, the one key area of focus the group decided to invest was in the huge medium business segment in the UAE. The common challenges across all businesses was similar – i) business growth at a rapid pace, ii) demand for an integrated financial accounting & inventory management system that was broadly functional, customized to the Middle East business and iii) quick to learn & easy implementation and iv) Easy to operate and manage.
